      After the 40-day mattress adjustment period, if you feel a different comfort level or style would work better, you may exchange your mattress within 365 days of purchase with no prorated pricing. Terms and conditions apply, see below information for all the details and education.

      Understanding the Adjustment Period

      A new mattress is like a new pair of shoes — it takes time for the new materials and your body to adjust to each other. It gets better with time as everything breaks in and your body gets use to the new surface, just like a pair of shoes. Typically, it takes about 40 days for a mattress to start performing at its best. If we don't allow the proper time for everything to align with each other and change too quickly, we will always be chasing the wrong mattresses. You are not going to change the mattress for the same thing; you are going to change the mattress to a different feel. This is why we need to give the test 40 days. 

      Bedding Explained

      If you buy a new pair of running shoes in the summer and you put wintertime thick wool socks on to go run, there is a good chance you won't like the new shoes that are correct for you. How many times have you wore dress socks and your feet sweat but don't with your normal socks? With the wrong bedding (“socks”), you may end up disliking the correct mattress for you. Having the wrong pillow will have your cervical alignment off and can promote hot sleep (think about all the blood that runs through your neck & head, which never even touch the mattress). A thick or low-quality mattress protector will not stretch and adapt like it should making the mattress feel different and possibly adding pressure to shoulders or hips. The wrong protector can suffocate the mattress not allowing it to breath and expel your body heat, then getting hotter and hotter the longer you're in bed. This goes the exact same for sheets; low quality will trap heat and not wick moisture to help keep from sweating.

      If you use incorrect pillows, sheets, and/or a protector with your new mattress, it greatly increases the chance you may not be happy with it. The wrong bedding can cancel cooling features, change the feel of the mattress, and lower overall sleep success. This is why we require a "bedding bundle" with the purchase of your new mattress to receive a comfort exchange if needed. It is very rare for us to receive comfort exchange requests when customers purchase a full sleep system from us.

      This requirement is intended to help ensure that, if a change is needed, the mattress is truly the issue. Using our bedding products with our mattresses ensures that the bedding is not causing problems because we make sure you receive cooling-promoting bedding with a cooling mattress and breathable bedding with a temperature-neutral mattress. This is why a bedding bundle from us is mandatory to qualify for the Exchange Guarantee.

      *These policies constitute the 365 Night Sleep Great or Exchange Guarantee.

      *Exchange Fee and Delivery Terms

      A $199 Exchange Fee applies to all reselections. This fee covers delivery to swap mattresses up to 20 miles from the store without additional delivery charges. Distances beyond 20 miles will incur a standard delivery fee in addition to the exchange fee.

      The Mattress Clinic allows a one-time reselection ONLY after the 40-day adjustment period. You have 365 days from the purchase date to exchange your mattress.

      Reselection Requirements

      • You may select a mattress of equal or greater value of the same size.

      • If selecting a mattress of greater value, you must pay the difference.

      • If selecting one of lesser value, no refund will be issued.

      • The original purchase must include a bedding bundle (mattress protector, sheet set, and pillow) purchased before the mattress is received from The Mattress Clinic.

      In most cases, if the mattress is not sleeping as desired, it requires a lateral move (e.g., medium to soft) or a higher-quality mattress to achieve the desired sleep. A cheaper mattress is not the solution to fixing less than desired sleep due to a mattress. 

      *Condition Requirements of the Mattress

      The mattress surrendered must be:

      • stain-free

      • odor-free (smoking, pet odor, etc.)

      • sanitary

      • undamaged

      We cannot exchange mattresses that are stained; unsanitary; odor damaged (smoking/pet odor); or are ripped, burned, or otherwise damaged. Products must have been used only for their intended purpose, including using the mattress on an appropriate base, frame, or foundation.

      *Limitations

      Please take your time in your reselection choice; only ONE comfort exchange is allowed per customer.
      Keep all receipts and leave the original law tag attached to the mattress. Your comfort exchange will be voided if the law tag is removed or proof of purchase is lost.

      Reselections are not allowed for:

      • mattress size or height concerns (If you think you have a Cal king, measure twice)

      • pillows, protectors, sheets, adjustable bases, foundations, or furniture

      • “special sizes” (California King, Split Queen, etc.)

      • custom orders

      • clearance merchandise

      • floor models

      • warranty exchanges

      Your mattress reselection will be sold at “normal” sale price and is excluded form special pricing (sales events).

      If you received a discount on your mattress or qualifying items and want to exchange the mattress, you must pay the difference of the discount(s) given off the regular price the items are sold. Example: If you exchange a medium mattress for the same model but a softer version and you received a discount on the mattress and/or bedding, you must pay:

      • the difference of any discount(s) previously given

      • the $199 exchange fee

      • any price increases since your original purchase (if any)

      180 Night Low Price Promise

      Price Match Terms

      Within 180 days of purchase, The Mattress Clinic will match any advertised price on the same product, name-for-name. Some products may appear similar but differ in material quality or construction. Two mattresses can be similar but priced very differently because of one using Talalay latex vs the other using a synthetic latex. To request a price adjustment, provide the advertisement in-store for verification.

      Exclusions

      The Low Price Promise does not apply to:

      • Clearance items

      • Floor models

      • Vendor rollbacks or rebates

      • Special purchases or doorbusters

      • Discontinued merchandise

      • Auction or resale sites (eBay, Craigslist, Facebook, etc.)

      • Closeout or bulk retailers (Costco, Sam’s Club, Overstock, The Dump, Wayfair, Amazon, etc.)
