Exchange Policies (Full)

This page outlines The Mattress Clinic’s exchange policies, including eligibility requirements, timeframes, fees, inspection standards, exclusions, and limitations. All exchange requests are subject to verification and inspection. The Mattress Clinic reserves the right to deny any exchange that does not meet the requirements listed below.


365 Night Mattress Exchange Policy (Full)

Eligibility Requirements

The Mattress Clinic offers a one-time Comfort Exchange Program for eligible purchases. All comfort exchange requests are subject to inspection and verification, and The Mattress Clinic reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is in violation of or does not comply with these rules. Situations not covered by written policies will be handled at the owner’s discretion.

To qualify for a comfort exchange, the original purchase must include The Mattress Clinic’s recommended mattress protector and two pillows for your specific mattress, and those items must be purchased before the mattress is received. The mattress protector must be used on the mattress at all times during the trial period. Failure to use the mattress protector at all times voids comfort exchange eligibility. If the qualifying items used to activate comfort exchange eligibility are returned for refund or store credit at any time, the comfort exchange eligibility is voided.

Processing Fee and Delivery Charges

All Comfort Exchange Program claims are subject to a non-refundable processing fee equal to 10% of the price of the returned item or $199, whichever is greater. This fee covers processing, inspection, and local delivery of the exchanged item. Additional delivery charges may apply for deliveries outside The Mattress Clinic’s local delivery zone (20 miles). The processing fee must be paid prior to inspection and is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of inspection.

Timeframe and Initiation Requirements

Comfort exchanges are available only after the 35-day adjustment period and must be initiated within 365 days of the purchase date. Initiation means emailing contact@mattressclinic.com within the stated timeframe with a picture of the law tag and exchange reasoning. The initiation date is determined by the date and time the email is received. If initiated within the required timeframe, the comfort exchange will be honored even if inspection, pickup, or delivery is completed after the deadline, provided the customer completes the exchange process within a reasonable time, typically within 14 days of initiating the request, unless otherwise approved by The Mattress Clinic. Failure to respond, schedule required services, or complete exchange requirements may result in denial of the exchange.

Inspection Standards and Condition Requirements

All items submitted for comfort exchange must be in like-new condition and must pass inspection. Inspection standards are determined by The Mattress Clinic to protect hygiene and product integrity. The Mattress Clinic cannot exchange mattresses that are stained, unsanitary, odor damaged (including smoke or pet odor as determined by The Mattress Clinic), ripped, burned, or otherwise damaged. The law tag must remain attached. The comfort exchange will be voided if the law tag is removed or if proof of purchase is lost. Keep your receipt. Products must have been used only for their intended purpose, including using the mattress on an appropriate base, frame, or foundation.

Exchange Limits and Reselection Rules

Comfort exchanges are limited to one exchange per customer and must remain the same size. Customers may select a replacement mattress at any value in the same size. If selecting a mattress of greater value, the customer must pay the difference. If selecting a mattress of lesser value, no refund will be issued. Please take your time in your reselection choice, as only one comfort exchange is allowed.

Exclusions

Comfort exchanges are not allowed for mattress size, special sizes (including California King, Split Queen, and similar), clearance merchandise, floor models, custom orders, or warranty exchanges.

Pricing and Promotions

Replacement mattresses are sold at normal sale price and are excluded from special pricing and promotional offers. If the original purchase included discounts or promotional pricing on the mattress and/or qualifying items, the customer is responsible for repayment of any discounts previously given. The customer must pay the difference between discounted pricing and the regular price the items are sold for, in addition to the processing fee and any applicable delivery charges. In rare cases, the customer may also be responsible for price increases that occurred since the original purchase.

Service Area Limitations

For deliveries or exchanges outside The Mattress Clinic’s local service capabilities, The Mattress Clinic may require an alternative exchange process and may deny service if local service is not available.


Pillow Exchange Policy (Full)

Timeframe and Initiation Requirements

Pillow exchanges are available within 90 days of purchase. Exchanges must be initiated within 90 days by emailing contact@mattressclinic.com. The initiation date is determined by the date and time the email is received.

Condition Requirements and Inspection Standards

To qualify for an exchange, the pillow must be returned in like-new condition and must be clean and sanitary, free of stains, discoloration, hair or debris, odor damage (including smoke or pet odor as determined by The Mattress Clinic), and free of rips, burns, or other damage maintaining a donatable condition for the pillow. The pillow must have been used only for its intended purpose. All exchanges are subject to inspection and verification, and The Mattress Clinic reserves the right to refuse any exchange that does not meet the standards listed above. If a pillow is returned in a condition that does not meet these requirements, the exchange may be denied or the value may be reduced to up to 30% store credit. Exchanged pillows are not resold as new. When appropriate and accepted by local organizations, The Mattress Clinic may donate certain exchanged pillows to community partners that serve individuals in need.

Exchange Method and Value

Exchanges are handled as a store credit toward any pillow selection. If the replacement pillow is higher in price, the customer is responsible for paying the difference. If the replacement pillow is equal in price, the exchange will be processed evenly. If the replacement pillow is lower in price, no refund is guaranteed, and any difference that may be issued is at The Mattress Clinic’s discretion and subject to the Return Policy. Any shipping costs associated with exchanging a pillow are the responsibility of the customer, unless the pillow is brought into the store for processing.

Exclusions

Clearance pillows, pillows discounted 40% or more, and gifted pillows are not eligible for exchange. A gifted pillow includes any pillow provided at no charge, including pillows given as part of a promotion, bundle, or as an alternative to a discount. Gifted pillows have no cash value and cannot be exchanged.

Comfort exchanges are available for mattresses and pillows only. All other products are final sale and are not eligible for exchange, return, refund, or store credit. The Mattress Clinic reserves the right to verify eligibility and deny any request that does not comply with these terms.
